History

Superior Air Handling Corporation was started as a heating, ventilating, and air conditioning sheet metal shop in Ogden, Utah, in 1948. Superior moved a few miles away to Clearfield, Utah, in 1967, and again relocated to a new facility nearby in October of 2002. In March of 1997, a group of 30 employees purchased Superior from EMCOR Group. The company is now owned by a cross-section of key management and production employees. Earning annual revenues of over 40 million dollars, Superior installs HVAC duct systems in facilities across the United States from New York to Hawaii and from Alaska to Texas. Superior has established itself as one of the largest and well-respected sheet metal contracting companies in the country.

Superior's corporate headquarters and manufacturing facilities in Clearfield, Utah, cover 178,000 square feet, and include five 10-ton and two 20-ton overhead cranes. The sheet metal is cut from 10,000 pound coils by two decoil lines. Special shapes and sizes are created by two computer-driven plasma cutter tables. The production facility has 120,000 square feet under roof to provide highly productive working conditions. Hand work is minimized by the use of both electrical and pneumatic power tools. The spiral seam duct machine produces round ductwork in custom lengths and diameters from 7 inches to 7 feet. Semi-automated welders and custom-designed tooling are used in the manufacture of Superior's welded products.

Superior manufactures custom-engineered sheet metal products for industrial and commercial construction applications. The company is principally involved in manufacturing duct systems for heating, ventilation and air conditioning applications, and produces rectangular, round and oval duct and fittings from galvanized, stainless, and carbon steel. Superior also manufactures acoustical plenums and enclosures, double-wall acoustical duct systems, and air distribution accessories such as volume dampers, access doors, and turning vanes.
